Family History Newspaper Features from 2011/2012

Above: The Wakefield Express - Friday 18th November 2011.  Ancestry by Heir Line’s historian, Michael J. Rochford, discovered documented evidence in rare antique history books that suggests forgotten medieval subterranean tunnels once existed far below the historic streets of Wakefield.  The tunnels were supposed to have linked Sandal Castle to the chantry chapel on Kirkgate Bridge, which smugglers took valuable statues through during the reign of King Henry VIII.  But are they secret passageways, are they adjoining cellars underneath the old buildings, or are they just a myth?  All will be revealed in Michael's new book, out in 2016.....
